NHM, mime artists conduct awareness drive on COVID-19 in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: As part of its Jana Jagaran awareness campaign, NHM (National Health Mission) Assam in collaboration renown mime artist Minangka Deka and team conducted an awareness drive on 'COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour' at the crowded Paltan Bazaar area on Tuesday. Leaflets were distributed and people were made aware on the proper use of masks, importance of social distancing and use of hygienic practices.

The programme was flagged off by ASTC Chief Personal Officer Ranjit Kumar Lahon at the ASTC Complex. People from various media houses were also present in the flag off.

It is to be noted that Jana Jagaran, a unique awareness campaign by the Health Department and NHM, Assam was launched in all the districts of the State on September 23with the aim to create mass awareness on - home isolation protocols, COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviours (importance of wearing mask, social distancing and hygiene) and going for COVID-19 tests.

As part of this campaign all the districts took out a rally of health workers that were flagged off by the respective district administrations to create awareness among the public. Various activities like door-to-door visits by Asha workers, distribution of leaflets, and various other activities are underway in the districts.
