North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP) Director Accused of Mishandling Staff

GUWAHATI: A multi-state project operating in 11 districts of 4 North Eastern states is underway by the North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP) introduced by the Ministry of development of North East Region (DONER). Employees of NERLP has placed accusations against Project Director HK Hajong and a few others following matters of concern.

Paul Lokho, COO of the project said that Rajneesh Borkotoki, PA to Project Director went missing in September 2018, leaving behind a suicide note. Lokho alleged that the note spoke of physical and mental torture by Hajong.

Toishab Jyoti Gohain, HR of NERLP also accused Hajong of terminating 15 staff on petty matters, where 7 of them have reported of being abused and also trampled by the Director.

Manoj Pathak, employee of NERLP commented, “Without open tender, a supply contract of Rs 2.04 crore has been awarded to M/S Kryzmal Super Foods Pvt Ltd. The company belongs to the wife of the Project Staff. Normally, NERLP is expected to look for seasoned and experienced supply agencies with at-least three years in existence. Copies of the accusations have been forwarded to the Secretary of DONER, Naveen Verma and Officer on Special duty DONER, Indrejit Singh Secretary of DONER.
