GUWAHATI: Vigilance Awareness Week, 2018 is being observed throughout the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) from October 29 to November 3. The theme for this year is “Eradicate Corruption—Build a New India”, a press release said. As part of the awareness week, various programmes, including taking of integrity pledge, organizing interactive sessions with headquarter and field officials, took place. Essay writing, drawing and debate competitions in schools and colleges have also been organized. Various activities in Railway Zonal Training Centres have been organized. Banners, posters etc were displayed for creating public awareness.
At NFR Headquarters at Maligaon in Guwahati, the pledge was administered on October 29 by Sanjive Roy, General Manager, NFR to officers and staff. Similarly pledge was administered at various offices of the divisions and construction units. Posters and banners were displayed at important locations throughout the jurisdiction of Northeast Frontier Railway. A Vigilance bulletin was also released on this occasion by Sanjive Roy. A “Sangosthi” was held on October 29 in presence of General Manager, N.F. Railway and General Manager (Construction) N.F. Railway along with all departmental heads. An interactive session with senior officers of all departments was held where the role, responsibilities, purpose, importance of preventive checks and case studies were discussed and measures for system improvements to check the irregularities were identified and discussed for their implementation, the release added.
