Not wearing face masks in public to attract Rs 1000 fine: Kumar Sanjay Krishna

Guwahati: Assam Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna, announcing the list of relaxations in the first phase of the Guwahati Unlock 1.0, said that Rs. 1,000 will be charged from anyone caught not wearing a face mask in public places.

"Face masks have will be compulsory, and everyone has to wear masks. If they do not, a fine of Rs. 1,000 shall be collected", the Assam Chief Secretary told mediapersons.

"The Health Ministry has projected that within August 15, 64,389 cases will be registered across Assam, out of which 32,933 cases will be reported in Guwahati alone", The Assam Chief Secretary Sanjay Krishna said.
