Notification on dates in Assam government communications

GUWAHATI: The General Administration Department, Government of Assam, issued a new notification on October 28, 2021. As per this notification, henceforth all communications from the State Government will use the Gregorian calendar and the Assamese calendar for dates.

The notification further stated that in the Barak Valley, government communications will use the Gregorian calendar and the Bangla calendar while in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), all government communications will use the Gregorian calendar and the Bodo/local calendar for dates.
