Now citizens must register their dogs with Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC)

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has issued a notice asking the citizens of the city to get the pet dogs registered. Owners can register their dogs at the Lakhtokia Veterinary Office under GMC, where they can get an application form for Rs. 10 and the registration has been fixed at Rs. 200. According to the notice, if an owner registers his/her pet at any other veterinary firm than they will have to pay extra Rs. 50 as service charge. The charges will cover the identification proof of the pet and also a metal collar will be provided. The registration will be valid for a year. The GMC has also instructed the owners to keep their pets inside their boundary and one should not let their dogs roam on the streets.
