NRL MD SK Barua Reactions To Union Budget 2019

GUWAHATI: NRL MD, SK Barua spared his thoughts against the Union Budget 2019 and stated, “Union budget presented a range of welcome measures which will help support business, in particular, the agriculture and food sector and good to hear the positive economic indicators of India on Friday. We will all support the Government’s vision to make India a Five Trillion Dollar Economy in the next five years.

Government’s Vision defined in ten dimensions will definitely make India a modern, technology-driven and high growth society in the world. A number of initiatives of growth seem to be taken in the farm sector. The budget will increase the purchasing power of the middle class and will help boost consumption.

For the 12 crore farmers, the introduction of PM Shram Yogi Mandan and giving a monthly pension of Rs 3 thousand per month is a great initiative particularly for the workman in the unorganized centres which is increasing day by day. This is a very positive social support besides the existing schemes of Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana

Allocation Rs 19,000 crore for construction of rural roads in 2019 - 20. Our industries in NE require substantial infrastructure support and this will help on compliance Tax assessments to be done electronically without interface with tax administration is a very good move.

As regards NE- This Govt has always been focused on the growth of NE. And now Good news for the Northeast, increase of 21% in the allocation to Rs. 58166 Crores is very good news. This will ensure speedy development of infrastructure in the North Eastern Region including Sikkim. Both physical and social infrastructure sectors need to be focused and UII am confident projects relating to basic services like water and sanitation will receive priority. Overall I think it’s a very positive budget and a very happy start for this year.”
