According to the Union Health Ministry, a containment zone refers to a specific geographical area where positive cases of coronavirus are found. Strict movement restrictions are put in place in such areas to prevent further spread of the virus.
In the fifth phase of the lockdown, termed as 'Unlock 1.0' by the Centre, the restrictions are strictly being observed in the containment zones which are seen as volatile areas where an outbreak is most likely.
It needs mention here that so far, 3,693 cases of the Covid-19 have been registered in Assam thus far, out of which 2,098 cases are active. At the same time, 8 persons have died due to Covid-19 related complications.
