Official from Rome visits Don Bosco School, Panbazar

 GUWAHATI: Father Chalissery George, SDB, presently Vice Rector, Post Novitiate, Lusaka, Zambia, is on a two-day visit from February 6 to February 7 to Don Bosco School, Panbazar as part of the visitation programme of the Don Bosco institutions. On Monday, he was accorded with a warm welcome by the staff and students of the school, as he was escorted into the auditorium by Principal Father Sebastian Mathew, Rector Father Vincent Xalxo, Vice Principal Father Joseph Mung and Father John Thomas, who has been entrusted with the responsibility of accompanying Father George Chalissery as Secretary for his visitation programmes in Guwahati province. A colourful cultural programme including a Sattriya dance was performed by the school students.

The Rector Major Ángel Fernández Artime, who is the spiritual head of the Don Bosco Society headquartered at Rome nominates someone to visit the Don Bosco institutions in his name, and for Guwahati Province, Rector Major has appointed Father George Chalissery. He has all the powers both, judicial and executive, to carry out the visitation for the good of the Province and the society at large. This visitation must be done once in six years, stated a press release.
