GUWAHAT: As a healthcare initiative, the OIL Corporation organized a health camp in the Guwahati Terminal - Betkuchi for all TT crew, contractual workers as well as for all employees on Saturday.

The camp was held in association with the Assam Healthcare Cooperative Society under the leadership of Dr Jayanta Biswa Sarma, renowned microbiologist as the VC.

The Assam Healthcare Cooperative Society is pioneering the concept of 'Citizen- led Healthcare' in Assam. They have over 140 shareholders and nearly ten thousands of beneficiaries from different parts in the state, NE as well as in Delhi. The beneficiary cardholders of the society avails a discount of between 10% to 40% from several diagnostic centres, hospitals and pharmacies in the state of Assam and Delhi.

The Indian Oil accords the topmost priority to conducting its business with a strong environment conscience, ensuring sustainable development, safe workplaces and enrichment of the quality of life of its employees, customers and community at large. Oil is one of the important POL terminals in North East catering the State of Assam, Meghalaya as well as Bhutan etc. with daily movement of average 250 to 300 tanker loads.

A team of doctors and nurses from Excel Care Hospital, Guwahati, along with other team members of the cooperative society conducted the daylong programme in the POL terminal. The experts carried out tests like BMS, BS, HBA1C etc. and completed 120 members of TT crew, contractual workers , employees etc. which was coordinated by D. K. Pathak, DGM (T) of the terminal and Sumathy Mohan, DGM In-charge (T) graced the programme as the Chief Guest.
