OIL Organizes SAKSHAM Cycle Rally At Guwahati

GUWAHATI: With a view to propagating the importance of fuel conservation and efficient energy utilization amongst the citizens, SANRAKSHAN KSHAMTA MAHOTSAV (SAKSHAM) 2020: OIL-SAKSHAM Cycle rally was organized at Guwahati on Sunday.

The bicycle rally is aimed at creating awareness among the people about fuel conservation, environment protection and promoting the use of bicycle for short distances, a measure that will not only save fuel but also help in creating greener environment and better health conditions, a press release said.

The event was flagged off from Assam State Zoo, Guwahati at 8.30 am by Samir Kumar Das, Executive Director-Pipeline Services, Oil India Limited.

Das said, “This is a cycling experience with an emphasis on building a community that is aware about its fuel conservation responsibilities and holistically getting to more environment friendly habits. The popularity of cycling is growing in our city and it provides us with a great opportunity to achieve environmental consciousness amongst people. Our endeavour as organizers of Saksham, Guwahati will be to provide an enriching experience to the cyclists and attendees awareness towards fuel conservation and environment friendly ways.”
