One arrested for kidnapping, sexually abusing minor in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, an eight-year-old girl was kidnapped from her house in the wee hours of Saturday morning while she was fast asleep.

According to police sources, the minor girl was sleeping in her house with her aunt. The accused, identified as Sanjib Biswas, entered the house at Nijorpaar in Birubari in the city and kidnapped the girl. However, she was rescued by an alert police patrolling team within a couple of hours of the incident from Chabipul Bilpar. Upon medical examination of the girl, it was found that she had been sexually abused.

A Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) team from Paltan Bazaar PS arrested Sanjib Biswas for kidnapping and sexually abusing the minor girl. Legal action has been initiated vide CNo 424/22 U/S 363/376(AB) IPC R/W Sec 6, POSCO Act.
