One arrested for murder in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Jalukbari police arrested the prime accused of murdering a 16-year-old girl of Katia Dolong in Jalukbari area on Wednesday night. The accused is identified as Bulbul Hussain (19), hailing from Charaimari under Chaygaon police station. He was arrested from Hatisola Pam, under Chaygaon Police Station. During the interrogation, he confessed that he had committed the crime. It may be mentioned, a 16-year-old girl was recovered from a bathroom on Wednesday evening. As per sources, she worked as a domestic help for years at Nourat Ali’s residence. The Jalukbari Police have suspected that she was raped and murdered. Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Borah and a team of the CID (Criminal Investigation Department) have reached the site. Later, the body was sent to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for postmortem.
