One killed after dumper from Jalukbari flyover falls atop bus

GUWAHATI: In a horrific road accident, an over-speeding dumper truck fell off the Jalukbari flyover atop a parked city bus on Tuesday morning. The driver of the dumper, Kismat Ali (24) died on the spot and the handyman has been admitted to a hospital in critical condition. The deceased driver was from Tura, Meghalaya.

The dumper was travelling from Amingaon and the accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle and it plunged off the flyover at Rotary Point. According to reports, the impact of the accident was so severe that two other parked buses were also damaged after the dumper (AS 14 C 7443) fell atop the city bus (AS 01 HC 7443).

It is to be mentioned that the dumpers are allowed to ply in the city from the evening time. It is major cause of worry for citizens as most of these trucks run at a very high speed.
