GUWAHATI: A speeding truck rammed into a Tata Magic van at Lal Ganesh in Guwahati on Saturday morning, leaving a passenger dead.
According to police sources, the truck driver named Anowar was inebriated when the accident occurred. He tried to flee after the collision, but the police caught him after chasing him a few kilometres.
The Tata Magic van was en route to Lal Ganesh from Lokhra. The identity of the deceased is not known. Police sent the body for a post-mortem.
