One lakh devotees accommodated so far: Jayanta Malla

GUWAHATI, June 21: With the inauguration of the long awaited Ambubachi Mela, around one lakh devotees have been accommodated in different designated camps so far, informed Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd Chairperson Jayanta Malla Baruah in a communiqué on Thursday. In the meantime, Guwahati Police Commissioner Hiren Chandra Nath informed that around 300 lady security personnel bth from Assam Police and CRPF has already been deployed to maintain a hassle-free movement and to monitor the situation. Notably, the main entrance of the Kamakhya Temple will be closed on the 9:27:54 pm on Friday and will be reopened on 7:51:56 am on June 26.
