GUWAHATI: The Bharatiya Janata Party mentioned that the state has developed rapidly since it came to power in 2016 and at an even faster pace since 2021 because of the proper implementation of welfare policies. This was mentioned by a spokesperson of the party, Rupam Goswami, during a press meet called at the state office of the party.

These developments have put opposition parties like Congress in distress, and not only the public but the opposition as well is praising the work done by the government, and this was evident from the recent incident when the opposition members praising Minister Pijush Hazarika mentioned the party spokesperson.

The spokesperson also pointed out that, due to the efforts of the government, retail inflation has come down in the state. The cost of electricity is Rs 7.60 in Assam, compared to Rs 8.13 in Rajasthan and Rs 9.96 in Bihar. Also, the price of petrol in Assam is Rs 98.03, while the same in Bihar is Rs 107.24, Rs 106.03 in West Bengal, 101.95 in Karnataka, and 108.48 in Rajasthan.

He also mentioned that the tea garden communities have seen proper development after 2014, saying that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has ensured a 3% reservation of seats for the community and that all-around development has taken place during his tenure.
