Over Rs 344 crores worth drugs seized in 8 months in Assam
3,216 persons have been arrested against 1,879 cases registered

GUWAHATI: As a direct consequence of the Assam Police's string of successes in the war against drugs, till now Rs. 344,79,91,785 worth of seizures was made in the past eight months.
Notably from the month of May 2021 till December 2021, 1879 cases have been registered and 3216 persons have been arrested. In the month of May 264 cases were registered and 441 persons arrested and Rs. 47,55,09,800 worth contraband items were seized.
In June 465 cases were registered and 821 persons arrested and Rs. 84,80,99,535 worth contraband items were seized.
In July250 cases were registered and 406 persons arrested and Rs. 39,39,10,800 worth contraband items were seized.
In August233 cases were registered and 427 persons arrested and Rs. 46,85,80,300 worth contraband items were seized.
In September 165 cases were registered and 276 persons arrested and Rs. 40,15,42,400 worth contraband items were seized.
In October 163 cases were registered and 262 persons arrested and Rs. 20,84,09,200 worth contraband items were seized. In November 149 cases were registered and 239 persons arrested and Rs. 42,70,50,800 worth contraband items were seized. In December 190 cases were registered and 344 persons arrested and Rs. 22,48,88,950 worth contraband items were seized.
