Package of practices on Fisheries and Aquaculture in Assam Released

GUWAHATI, Sept 19: The package of practices on fisheries and aquaculture in Assam which is developed based on considering the changes in science and technology, eco-system and necessity for climate resilience technology by Assam Agriculture University (AAU) and published by Directorate of Fisheries, Government of Assam in collaboration with ARIAS Society under World Bank Financed Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) was released by State’s Minister of Fisheries Parimal Suklabaidya at Dispur on Wednesday.

In his inaugural speech, the Minister said that the new fisheries technology suitable for the agro-climatic condition of the State would be highly useful document for all the stakeholders and especially for the fish and fish seed farming communities of the state for years to come. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Naba Kumar Doley also graced the function as special guest and appreciated the effort of fishery department to make the State of the leading fish producing state in the country.
