Panchayat Polls: Last date for filling nominations today

GUWAHATI: After much hue and cry, a sizable number of candidates from various political parties will fill their respective nominations to contest the first phase of the Panchayat polls on Thursday. Notably, Thursday is the last date for filling nomination for the first phase of the rural polls. As such, most of the candidates, who are yet to submit their nominations, will rush to their respective centres on Thursday. It must be noted that all the nominations will be scrutinized on Friday. Accordingly, the final list comprising the valid candidates will be published on Saturday.
