Patriotic Play ‘Kushal Konwar’ Staged at Kalakshetra Auditorium in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Aug 17: The Guwahati based socio-cultural organization SRISHYAM performed a play, Kushal Konwar on August 15 at Srimanta Shankerdeva Kalakshetra in front of a packed audience befitting the Independence Day.

The play was written and directed by Bhupen Goswami. Actor Pranjal Saikia and writer Shanker Das inaugurated the play by lighting the ceremonial lamp and paying tributes to the portrait of Kushal Konwar. Both of them also released a souvenir and applauded the efforts of Bhupen Goswami and DRISHYAM.

OIL, Assam Cultural department and Kalakshetra among others extended support in this endeavour. Notably, another play scheduled to be performed on the second day was cancelled following the demise of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and a new date will be announced soon. Mantu Gogoi, Asim Krishna Bora, Nilakshi Deka, Dilip Das, Anil Haloi, Manabendra Kakati among others took part in the drama.
