People Blame GMC, APDCL As Suffering Mounts in City

GUWAHATI, Aug 29: The residents of Nalapara area near Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, also known as Sarusajai Stadium has criticized the indifferent attitude of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL).

Talking to The Sentinel, the residents of Nalapara area located under the GMC ward no. 27 said that despite their repeated pleas, the GMC and the APDCL authorities have been showing indifferent attitude to their concern. Due to lack of street lights in the area, certain miscreants preferably gather in the area at night to take alcohol thereby turning the locality unsafe for the women folk. During monsoon, water logging has been a major concern for area. Moreover, even after drying up of the rain water, the potholes appearing in the street has hitherto been causing troubles to the local commuters.
