2 PILs filed at Gauhati High Court on Bengal Post-Poll Violence Victims Fleeing to Assam

Two PILs have been filed at the Gauhati High Court raising the issue of an internally displaced person (IDP) who has been forced to flee from West Bengal to Assam following the alleged post-poll violence in the West Bengal Assembly Election.

GUWAHATI: Two PILs have been filed at the Gauhati High Court raising the issue of an internally displaced person (IDP) who has been forced to flee from West Bengal to Assam following the alleged post-poll violence in the West Bengal Assembly Election.

PIL 29/2021, the Court has asked for a reply from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). The NCPCR has filed an affidavit stating the conditions of the children in the makeshift camps in Assam. Some larger issues have been made in PIL 30/2021 such as the status of the IDP and the responsibility of the State Government and Union of India, in these matters.

This next date of listing is July 14.
