Guwahati: Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi on Thursday claimed that the non-political interview of Prime Minister Narendra Modi before Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is nothing but a 'Scripted Drama'.

Challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi's version of statements, Tarun Gogoi said that Prime Minister had failed to justify the key issues of the nation in his 1-hr interview to the Bollywood actor. "He failed to highlight the facts related to Demonetization, GST and other key issues of the nation," said Gogoi.

Tarun Gogoi also mentioned that the PM Modi is fooling the people of Assam by taking the 'Axomiya Gamosa' on his shoulder. "I never saw him wearing the 'Gamosa' on the occasion of Republic Day and Independence Day," added Gogoi.

Gogoi also alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party is involved in buying votes in the general elections.

He also claimed that Election Commission of India (ECI) which is an autonomous constitutional authority are in fear of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, therefore, no action has been initiated by the poll body despite knowing the fact that PM Modi had violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) repeatedly during the general elections.

He also tagged Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to be the pujaris (priest) to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Both of them are in competition amongst each other, claiming themselves to be the best when it comes to worship PM Narendra Modi," Gogoi added further.

Speaking about the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016, Gogoi said that we have failed to take the matter to the grass root level. Although there were several protests and dharnas on the CAB'16 issue, not a single organization or party managed to take the matter to the grass root level, claimed Gogoi before the media.

On the other hand, Gogoi claimed to conquered at least 8 Lok Sabha seats from Assam in the general elections.
