Guwahati: “The beneficiaries of PMAY-G will be able to inform their problems directly to the authority through the toll free helpline service and the same will be addressed within two working days,”said State Panchayat and Rural Development (P & RD) minister Naba Kr Doley.
The minister said this while inaugurating the toll free helpline number, 1800-123-235600 at a function held at Commissionerate of P & RD on Saturday. He said that measures are being taken to solve the problems found during the night stay at newly constructed PMAY-G houses by the officials of P & RD and public representatives on August 11.
To address the dearth of mason, initiatives are being taken to impart mason training in mission mode. The minister also said that the helpline number is launched as a part of steps taken to accelerate the construction of PMAY-G houses so that the beneficiaries may inform about their problems immediately. He also urged that the beneficiaries should come forward to avail this facility to resolve their problems and to construct their houses within stipulated time and give opportunities to other eligible beneficiaries in getting their house. Further he also asked the employees newly appointed for the call center to attend each and every beneficiaries call with utmost care and patience.
In his welcome speech Dr J B Ekka, Principal Secretary, P & RD opined that this step of toll free helpline service will speed up the implementation of PMAY-G. Addressing the gathering, Dr P Ashok Babu, Commissioner of P & RD said that the system of helpline service is taken up with the active thought of minister P & RD, so that the problems of PMAY-G beneficiaries may be attended daily basis. He also said that the contact numbers of all beneficiaries are in the database of P & RD and the status of construction of houses will also be assessed by the department from time to time.
Notably, the beneficiaries may also SMS and Whatsapp their problems to 91278-71201.
