GUWAHATI: The Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary (PWS), famed for the one-horned rhinoceros, was reopened for tourists on Tuesday.
State Environment and Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary reopened the Wildlife Sanctuary in the presence of minister and Jagiroad MLA Pijush Hazarika. Hazarika said that the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary has been attracting tourists from the State as well as outside. The ceremony was attended by traditional king Taranikant Singh of Mayang region, senior officials of the forest department, Deputy Commissioner of the Morigaon district, Superintendent of Police and other officials.
