Prag Cine Award: A star-studded extravaganza

Lifetime Achievement Award to eminent theatre and cine personality Kulada Kumar Bhattacharjee

GUWAHATI, My 19: Preparations of the dais for the two-day mega cine event, Prag Cine Award – North East, 2018 scheduled on 26th and 27th May are all coming to an end.

This edition of the ceremony is set to mesmerize the gathering by presenting numbers of celebrated Bollywood stars that include Govinda, Huma Qureshi, Ihana Dhillon, Adil Hussain, Sony Charishta, model-cum-actress Arjumman Mughal, besides a number of popular artistes.

The coveted Lifetime Achievement Award for this season will be awarded to eminent theatre and cine personality Kulada Kumar Bhattacharjee for his contribution to the cinematic world of Assam.

The event is going to fulfill 15 years of its voyage since its historic inception in March 4, 2001. This long awaited and biggest cine event of the region will be held at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital Auditorium. The awards will be presented in various categories from among 32 movies censored in the year 2017 in Assamese and other languages of Assam. The organizers, in a release said that besides Assam, artistes from other north-eastern states and also from the Hindi film industry will perform in the two-day cultural extravaganza.

For this year’s edition, the prestigious Global Icon Award will be presented to eminent sound engineer from Assam who has made a mark in Hindi film industry, Debojit Sangmai. The event instituted by AM Television Private Limited has been evolving as a major attraction and consolation for the expanding film industry of Assam and the Northeast.
