GUWAHATI, May 20: The Panchayat and Rural Development Department’s (P&RD) examination for various posts scheduled on May 20 went off quite messy in various designated centres across the state. According to a source, an on-duty lady examination investigator at the Borni Higher Secondary School centre near Hajo was allegedly taking photograph of the answer script using her cell phone which provoked numbers of candidates appearing in the centre to protest against the investigator witnessing her unfair act. Moreover, a large number of candidates could not find their respective examination centres arranged in various places of Rangia which resulted in great dilemma adding fuel to the fire. In a predicament, the authority was compelled to start the scheduled examination as late as two hours in many centres at Rangia. The source also revealed that in many centres, number of candidates allegedly resorted to cheating in the examination hall by using smart watch. The scheduled examination was conducted for the posts of Tax Collector cum Road Mohorar, Junior Assistant (Anchalik Panchayat), Gaon Panchayat Secretary, Extension Officer (Panchayat) and Gram Sevak and Gram Sevika for a total post of 945. Meanwhile, taking exception to the chaotic management and untoward incidents took place across the state on the day; Additional Chief Secretary M. G. V. K. Bhanu ordered a probe.
