Preparation For Disaster Management Overseen by PK Mishra

GUWAHATI: Additional Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Dr PK Mishra reviewed the State Disaster Preparedness with concerned Government Officials of Government of Assam at Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) Conference Hall, on Friday.

According to a press statement, the meeting was initiated with a presentation on the activities of ASDMA on various disaster preparedness in the state, which was followed by the comments and views of the officials on the same. PK Mishra emphasized on the need to make effort to sustain all lessons learned from past disasters in the state. Further, he stressed on the need to have realistic preparedness measures on the ground for effective handling of disasters and enhance community participation in disaster management. PK Mishra appreciated the Government of Assam and ASDMA for their efforts made in respect of disaster preparedness in the state as one of the forerunners in the country.
