Prime accused in city's rave party case gets bail by Gauhati High Court

GUWAHATI: Bishal Kusum Choudhury, one of the prime accused in the rave party incident in the city, was granted bail by the Gauhati High Court on Monday.

The court granted him bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 25,000 with two suitable sureties of the like amount. The direction for bail is further subject to the conditions that the accused-petitioner shall not leave the territorial jurisdiction of the Special Judge under the NDPS Act without prior written permission from him; shall deposit his Passport/visa, etc if any, in the court; shall not tamper with the evidence of the case; and shall not, directly or indirectly, make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the court or to any police officer.

On August 13, following a tip-off, Guwahati Police raided the rave party in Kharguli and arrested 18 people. A case (282/21/u/s 188 IPC R/W 20A/21B/25/29 NDPS Act) was registered at the Latasil Police Station. Bishal Kusum Choudhury was arrested by Guwahati Police in Delhi on August 28. He had allegedly supplied cocaine for the rave party.
