Productivity week commences at Guwahati Refinery

GUWAHATI: Productivity week 2022 commenced at Guwahati Refinery on Monday with unfurling of the Productivity Week flag by SP Singh, Executive Director & Refinery Head in the presence of senior officials, representatives of collectives and a number of employees, stated a press release.

In the inaugural programme organized at the lawn of the Administrative Building, employees reaffirmed their commitment to contribute towards the cause of enhanced productivity by taking the Productivity Week pledge in Assamese, Hindi and English languages.

Every year, the country marks National Productivity Day on February 12. The day is part of the National Productivity Week, which is observed from February 12 to February 18 by the National Productivity Council (NPC).

In the programme, SP Singh spoke on the theme of this year's observance – 'Self-Reliance through Productivity' - and urged all to focus on various ways for enhancing productivity and accelerating growth and profitability of Guwahati Refinery and the organization as well. He further urged all to brainstorm and to find ways to increase productivity, to work on the systems and to improve the systems as well with focus on reliability, operational excellence and timely completion of jobs. He further urged all to take active part in various activities lined up during the week and to contribute suggestions, so as to contribute in the enhanced growth of the organization as a whole.

On the occasion, the message of Director (Refineries), Indian Oil, Sukla Mistry was also read out to all by GK Goyari, Chief General Manager (Technical Services & Health, Safety & Environment).

Earlier, the welcome address was given by DJ Datta, General Manager (MS, L&D) wherein the various competitions lined up for the observance were shared with all.

As part of the week-long celebration, Guwahati Refinery has lined up a number of activities, including online quiz competition, e-suggestion competition, e-elocution competition, e-poster caption writing competition, webinars on Hydrogen Fuel Perspective in Energy Transition and on Net Zero Emission & Way Forward, Group Idea presentation etc., amongst the employees, their spouses, dependent children, security personnel as well as school students.
