Programmes conducted on pest control techniques in Kamrup

GUWAHATI: Three 2-day Human Resource Development (HRD) programmes were conducted by the Regional Central Integrated Pest Management Centre Guwahati in the Rabi season 2021-22, stated a press release.

The programmes were conducted recently at various villages, including Topangtoli in Dimoria block, Golapgaon in Dimoria, Rajamayang in Mayang.

A total of 122 participants attended the programmes, out of which 78 were women. These programmes provided training to the farmers for the judicious use of chemical pesticides and encouraged use of bio-control agents like Trichoderma viride, Beauvaria bassiana, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Trichogramma spp., naturally produced botanicals (bio-pesticides like Neem, Karanj based bio-pesticide) through Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques.
