Public hearing over Guwahati Municipal Corporation wards delimitation

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Saturday held a public hearing of claims and objections made by municipal voters in connection with the draft list of delimited wards published on January 6.

The public hearing was held in the presence of GMC Commissioner Devasish Sharma.

Separate hearings were held for representatives of various political parties and social organizations.

Although 20 organizations had filed claims and objections within the specified deadline of January 19, only 11 organizations attended Saturday's hearing.
