Railways Police Force rescues Arunachal minor in Dibrugarh

GUWAHATI: Acting on a tipoff, Railways Police Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) rescued a nine-year-old minor boy along with his kidnapper before boarding train no. 05955 spl of September 11, 2020, from the Dibrugarh railway station.

The kidnapper identified as Raju Chhetry, son of Gopal Chhetry, resident of Mahadevpur, under the Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh reportedly ran away with the minor boy without the consent of his parent.

On getting the information Asst Sub Inspector, RPF, NFR S Pangging conducted a search operation at the Dibrugarh station with his staff and managed to apprehend the kidnaper with the minor boy.

The minor boy is from the Dewpani area of Roing, Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal

Pradesh. Both of them were later handed over to GRP (Government Railway Police), Dibrugarh for further course of action as per law. It may be mentioned here that during the last three years, the RPF of NFR successfully

arrested more than 50 such traffickers along with the rescue of hundreds of minor children.

In another incident, on receiving information about touting activity from the Danapur Division of East Central Railway, a team of RPF personnel of the NFR led by Inspector/RPF/Rangapani under Katihar division conducted a joint raid with the local police of Bahadurganj, under Dist-Kishanganj (Bihar), stated a release.

During the raid, a 26-year-old male identified as Fakar Ali Nazami son of Nazam Ahmad and resident of Desia Toli, post office Meharganj under Bahadurganj police station of Kishanganj (Bihar) district was arrested from his shop for unauthorized procuring and supplying of Railway e-Tickets as well editing the tickets.

During the joint raid and search operation, 19 more railway e-tickets valued at Rs 57,008.20, one HP brand laptop, one mobile handset (Redmi Note 9 Pro with sim-9818208103 & number 9955220707), and one laptop connector was seized. A case has been registered in this connection at the RPF Post of Kishanganj vide case no- 132/20, dated September 11, 2020 under Section 143 of the Indian Railway Act, the release added.
