Rajya Sabha polls: All India United Democratic Front to issue three-line whip

GUWAHATI: The All India United Democratic Front (AUIDF) will issue a three-line whip for its MLAs ahead of the Rajya Sabha polls in the State.
Talking to media persons, AIUDF legislative party leader Hafiz Bashir Ahmed (Qasimi) said that the party would issue a three-line whip for the Rajya Sabha polls. "Dhubri MLA Nazrul Haque has been appointed as the party agent for the polls while Dalgaon MLA Mojibur Rahman has been appointed as the assistant agent," he said.
The decision to appoint the party agent and assistant agent was taken at the party's legislative meeting after discussion with AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal and Congress candidate for the Rajya Sabha polls, Ripun Bora, added Ahmed.
Meanwhile, Ripun Bora has written to the presidents of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), AIUDF and CPI (M), Assam, requesting them to issue whip for their respective MLAs ahead of the Rajya Sabha polls in the State. The polls for two seats of the Rajya Sabha from Assam will be held on March 31..
