Recruitment in agriculture: Changes made in website for Divyangjans

GUWAHATI: The External Examination Cell of Gauhati University has made changes in the website – https://xex.gauhati.ac.in – after the Divyangjan candidates complained of not being able to access the website to apply for vacant posts in the Agricultural Department.

Earlier, the Pratibandhi Suraksha Sangstha, Assam (PSSA) had submitted a memorandum to the convener of External Examination Cell of Gauhati University highlighting the issues faced by the Divyangjan candidates.

In this regard, PSSA general secretary Nripen Malakar underlined that, "Though the website has been opened for Divyangjan candidates, our demand for age relaxation has not been met. Moreover, there should be four per cent reservation for persons with disabilities and the date of submitting application should be extended."

The PSSA demanded the External Examination Cell of Gauhati University to address their issues at the earliest.

"If no initiative is taken to address our demands, then we will take democratic measures for the same," Malakar added.
