Regional Dental College Hostel residents test negative for COVID-19

GUWAHATI: All the 71 residents of the Regional Dental College Hostel in Guwahati tested corona negative. Their swab samples were tested since they had come in contact with Dr. Deepa Deka who tested corona positive, tweeted State Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Two other doctors – Dr Sangeeta Nath and Dr. Tribisha Kalita – who were on duty in the GMCH with Dr. Deepa Deka also tested corona negative.

All the 538 people including doctors, nurses and other staff of the GMCH who had come in contact with Dr. Lithikesh, a corona patient, also tested corona negative. GMCH superintendent Dr. Ramen Talukar is also among the 538 people. Twenty-six others including doctors and nurses of MMCH (Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital) who had come in contact with Dr. Lithikesh also tested corona negative. The results of a few others of the GMCH whose samples were sent for test are awaited.

The suspension of GMCH OPD (outpatient department) service still continues.
