Rest Camp Kalibari Durga Puja to have 'Kedarnath' theme

GUWAHATI: Rest Camp Kalibari Durga Puja Committee is all set to celebrate Durga Puja this year in a grand way. The committee has set aside a budget of Rs 20 lakh for the Durga Puja preparations.

The Rest Camp Durga Puja has always been a special attraction for devotees and pandal hoppers with its unique themes and lighting. This year the theme of the Rest Camp Kalibari Durga Puja is Kedarnath. The idol maker is from Dhirenpara and the idols are being sculpted in the venue itself.

The committee is making preparations keeping in mind the instructions of the district administration. CCTV cameras will be installed and volunteers have been engaged.

Meanwhile, the district administration has issued more guidelines to the Puja committees. The Puja committees must engage their own volunteers and no pandals can be set up on the streets. The idols must be eco-friendly. Immersion should be done during the daytime. Moreover, Puja committees must ensure that fire extinguishers are available in the pandals and proper safety measures are put in place. Dustbins should be arranged near the pandals and there must be drinking water facility.
