GUWAHATI: Nine girls and two boys from Sadhna Orchestra Abong Musical Group, who were taken to Siliguri on August 2 to perform in a program and held captive at Chhapra in Bihar, returned safely to the city on Saturday. After noting the statement of each member of the group at Panbazar police station, a complete medical check-up was conducted. Guwahati Police Commissioner (CP) Deepak Kumar said, "After speaking with the team, it is evident that the mastermind behind the entire episode is Rahul Das. Accused Raju Parel and Sabita Bareli contacted Das, who took the team to perform at a Ganpati Utsav in Chhapra, Bihar. On the first day, a few girls performed however, they were reprimanded by Raju Parel and Sabita Bareli and asked to perform Bhojpuri Nritya indecently." The CP further informed that no members of the group were physically harmed and while they were promised a sum of Rs 20000, where each member was supposed to receive Rs 1000 per day, no payment was made. Rahul Das is currently under interrogation.
