GUWAHATI: His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada Founder Acharya of Worldwide Hare Krishna Movement has given the direction that "no one should go hungry up to 10 miles radius of our temples. To fulfill the instruction of spiritual master Srila Prabhupada the Hare Krishna Movement had launched a programme called "Pure for Cure" since February 2017 in which it serves hot and nutritious meals to the underprivileged families across the city.

'Saatvik Meal' is prepared with full cleanliness and in a complete hygienic way and it is sanctified food. The food is served in vessels which retains the temperature of the food till 6 hours. We serve this food in government run hospitals, schools, orphanages, disabled homes and old age homes, besides railway tracks and slums and many more such locations of the city where people live in adverse situations.

"Today we are signing an MoU with the Airport Authority of India to distribute 2 days in week 2 hospitals meals for next one year," said a press release issued by Hare Krishna Movement said.

Sri Janardhana Dasa, Temple president of Hare Krishna Movement, Guwahati heartily appreciated officials of Airport Authority of India and his team for supporting the cause to fight against hunger and volunteering to serve meals at both the hospitals on both days.

"We thank the Airport Authority of India for supporting this cause of feeding the less blessed and extending the service for another year.

"The Vedas proclaim that – Anna Daan or the donation of food is supreme and incomparable to any other charity. Again once Lord Krishna advised Yudhishtira in Mahabharat, one who is desirous of the wellbeing of this world and beyond, should make special endeavours to give food.

"We invite people to come as volunteers to serve food, spread the message about this initiative. We also invite people to sponsor prasadam in different locations on their birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. This distribution has been going on since last one year, in which we have distributed food at hundreds of localities across Guwahati more than 5, 00,000 meals. The people who had food shared that it's tasty, hot and delicious, which overwhelmed them with joy. The food is of such high quality that even people from all walks of life stand in line with plates to honour food. "We request more people to join hands with us for this noble cause and help us to expand this mission."
