Guwahati: After the detection of COVID-19 positive cases, particular areas in the State Bank of India's local head office opposite the Assam Secretariat have been declared as containment zones.
As per an order promulgated by Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu, Floor 1 (Wing-A), floor 5 (Wing-A), and floor 8 (Wing-A) have been declared as containment zones and sealed accordingly.
Any unauthorized entry and exit into the said containment zones have been barred till the area is declared safe as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India.
Apart from the SBI head office, two more areas have also been declared as containment zones by the district administration.
Due to the detection of COVID-19 positive cases in the Swagata Square at the ABC point in Guwahati, the SBI Regional Business office on the 6th floor and also the 4th and 5th floors of the building have been tagged as containment zones and sealed.
Additionally, the Dhirenpara Maternity and Child Welfare Hospital in Dhirenpara has also been declared as a containment zone and sealed by the circle officer to prevent an outbreak of the viral disease.
DC Pegu, in his orders, has made it abundantly clear that all statutory and other directions regarding maintenance of social distancing will be strictly enforced in the sealed areas.
"Any violations of the order will attract action under the provisions of the Assam COVID-19 Regulations 2020, The Disaster Management Act, 2005, The Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, and other relevant laws of the nation", the DC stated.
