GUWAHATI: The SEBA (Board of Secondary Education Assam) has issued direction to constitute the 'Centre Committees' for the smooth and fair conduct of the ensuing HSLC/AHM (High School Leaving Certificate/ Assam High Madrassa) examination-2022 within December 31, 2022.

The SEBA pointed out, "The Centre Committees for the examination should be formed in a meeting represented by the guardians of the candidates, distinguished persons and educationists of the locality, all heads of the local educational institutions, managing committees of the Centre School, Officers in Charge of the police station, Post Master, doctor or medical officer, and the teaching staff of all the educational institutions under the Centre.

The order further said, "The meeting must be well represented and the members of invitees should not be less than 200/250) and to form a quorum of at least 50 persons must attend the meeting keeping in mind the Covid safety protocols. The greater number of public involves, the better it would be to run the examination smoothly.

"The president of the Centre Committee can be the MP/MLA/president of managing committee/ governing body of the institution/distinguished educationists/ government gazetted officers.

"The Secretary of the Centre can be the principal/headmaster of the institution selected for the Center. He/she will act as the Officer in Charge of the Centre and he/she must have at least six months of service from the date of commencement of the examination. However, the Centre Committee may arrange for some exceptional cases with due approval of the IS (inspectors of Schools) concerned.

The members of the Centre Committee can be: (a) the heads of the schools of the appearing schools; (b) six leading persons/ educationists including a lady; (c) OC (Officer in Charge) of the local police station; (d) Post Master of the local post office; (e) one medical officer or government registered doctor; (f) the Committee may co-opt local dignified persons as members; but, the number should not exceed the maximum limit of five (g) no person must be included in the committee whose sons/daughters or relative(s) will appear in the ensuing examination."
