Shramdaan Offered on Railway Premises on Gandhi Jayanti

GUWAHATI: As a mark of respect to the father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the auspicious occasion of his 150th birth anniversary, a special cleanliness drive, ‘Shramdaan’ was launched at ECO Park, Amingaon on Tuesday.

On the occasion, NK Prasad, General Manager, NFR (Construction) offered Shramdaan as part of the Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan. Prasad also planted a sapling at the premises of ECO Park to convey the message of clean and green India.

Later addressing the gathering, Prasad said that keeping cleanliness is not the responsibility only of safai karamcharis but also of all the employees and Officers. Prasad appealed to all the employees, officers and their relatives to implement the vision and philosophy behind Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan to maintain hygiene and sanitation in the railway premises.

He further said that swachchta should become a social movement and awareness about cleanliness and sanitation should reach every corner of railway colonies as well as in railway premises, a release said.
