Shutdown of restaurant, bakery

Guwahati, July 19: The Food Safety officials of the city on Thursday carried out inspection drive in the Maligaon and Pandu area of the city. At Maligaon the officials inspected the kitchen area of Jai Santoshi Maa Cabin and Biju Sweets. At Gar Pandu the factory of Sikdar Bakery was checked. The officials found the kitchen/factory areas of all the three eateries to be dirty and unhygienic. Accordingly, notice of 14 days was served on all of them to improve the kitchen/ factory areas .

On the other hand, during the officials’ visit to Dayamaya Mistan Bhandar at Pandu Daily Bazaar, the kitchen and the latrine was found to be at zero distance while jelabi is made just in front of the latrine. The officials have ordered a shutdown of the restaurant. Likewise, in the case of Mira Bakery in the same area, the kitchen has been found to be on the septic tank. An order has been issued for a shutdown of the bakery.
