GUWAHATI: The Sadou Asom Sanyogi Siksha Karmi Santha (SASSKS) on Friday declared that it will gherao the Sarva Siksha Abhijan Mission office at Kahilipara on September 21. The move will be made to show resentment against the government for 'betraying' the body by not providing solution to their demands.
According to the body, the State government had assured that their jobs will be regularized for which a special TET will be conducted.
"The Education Department had asked all the Sikshak Karmis to complete their Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). Following the instruction 3,559 Siksha Karmis completed the D.El.Ed. and other necessary qualifications. However, the Education Department has not yet started the appointment process to regularize their jobs," said the SASSKS.
It opined that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the forthcoming Assembly Elections there is no possibility to conduct the special TET. Thus, the teachers' body argued that they should be again given appointment without the conduction of the special TET.
With this demand the SASSKS will stage the protest on September 21 following all the COVID protocols.
