Silver Jubilee of Axam Xahitya Xabha branch on December 28

GUWAHATI: The Dispur Xahitya Xabha, a recognised branch of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX), is going to celebrate its Silver Jubilee on December 28 next at the Rukmininagar Auditorium here.

Established in 1997, the Dispur Xahitya Xabha, led by Kishori Mohan Pathak, a local veteran literature worker, has produced more than a hundred life members of the AXX. According to a press release, Dr Tara Prasad Das, Ex-MLA from Sarukhetri LAC, is the present president of the branch while noted Assamese poet Akhil Das is the present secretary. A celebration committee has been formed with Nabin Gogoi, retired principal of the Gopal Boro Government HS School as president and Brajen Adhikari of the Assam Ayurvedic College as its general secretary. The Silver Jubilee programme includes hoisting of the AXX flag, a cultural procession, release of books and souvenir etc. The main session of the programme will be presided over by its president Dr Tara Prasad Das and Mrinalini Devi, vice-president of AXX will be the Chief Guest of the occasion.
