Slogans against Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) rends the air

GUWAHATI: As the Lok Sabha passed the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) on Monday with a majority of 311 votes against 80 votes and to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha as well people opposing the CAB rendered the air in the city with anti-CAB slogan.

With people coming out spontaneously to the streets opposing Citizenship Amendment Bill, student community too continued their protest. Since long, the students of Cotton University have been raising their voice against the CAB, now the students have taken Continued Sit-in-Demonstration to oppose the bill. The students of Cotton University rendered the air with slogans like BJP Go Back, Jay Aai Axom, We Don’t Want Citizenship Amendment Bill. The protesters said that the people Assam had send them to power by believing them; however they’ll get the answer in the next election for their betrayal.

Meanwhile over hundreds of students from Veterinary College in Khanapara also came in opposing the bill with placards in their hands. Rendering the air with anti-CAB slogan the students demanded to scrap the bill at any cost.
