GUWAHATI: The Social Welfare Department, Government of Assam appointed 11 persons on compassionate grounds at a programme held at the Directorate in presence of Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma here on Tuesday.
Distributing the appointment letters, Brahma said that the Department has given appointments based on compassionate grounds after 14 long years. The earlier appointments in the department on such grounds were given in 2006, Brahma said.
Further, the Minister further said that the process is underway for the appointment of 14 more persons.
"The State government has started the appointment process in various departments. Thousands of unemployed youths will be benefitted," she added while talking about the government's initiatives to tackle the unemployment crisis.
Lastly, Brahma appealed to the people that after being appointed to the government offices one should serve the State sincerely. It is to be noted that the function was presided by Director of Social Welfare Debola Devi Das.
