GUWAHATI: The Sonapur Police on Friday night busted an oil-pilferage racket and recovered around 1,100 litres of diesel. The oil was recovered from a shop near the National Highway 37 (NH 37), and a person – Akram Hussain, was arrested in this connection. The accused is a resident of Mayong in Morigaon district. According to reports, the gang was running a trade of pilfered oil for a long time in the Kapalkata and Chamata areas of Sonapur.
