Sparsh-Axom organizes Gonit (Maths) Fair in North-Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Socio-Educational organization SPARSH-AXOM organized a Gonit Mela in North-Guwahati on December 14. The event was the closing part of the week-long GONIT SAPTAH (Mathematics Week) including workshops organized in 10 different schools in the North-Guwahati area from December 7 to 13 .The primary objective of the programme is to encourage the student fraternity towards mathematics with the application of few innovative and playful methods so as to inherit the basic mathematical ideas at the beginning stage of leaning. Total ten number of schools participated in the mega event namely-South Lenga LP School, Lenga Nabamilan LP School, Shiv Mandir LP School, North Lenga LP School, Maniknagar LP School, 420 No Satgaon LP School, Satgaon Pukhuripar LP School, Bor Nijarapar LP School, Barbaka LP School and Sorubaka LP School.

The GANIT KARMASALA has already marked a huge success ensuring the students participation of 10 different schools of North-Guwahati area under the guidance of Uttam Das, an enthusiast Science Teacher of Barbaka Tribal M E School of the district. Jahidul Rahman, the CRCC, Mandakata (B) has extended his cooperation in order to make the entire event successful. Earlier, District Education Officers namely Sweety Bezbaruah and Sangita Goswami extended their moral support and mentioned this as a unique, urgent and useful initiative taken by SPARSH-AXOM .On December 12, they were present at the daylong workshop programme on mathematics at 45 Maniknagar Lp School.

Few innovative models exhibited in the mela by different school students really dragged the attention of everybody present. Ratna Das, the Head, Department of Communication and Journalism, Dakshin Kamrup Girls’ College and Chief Functionary of the organization, graced the occasion. Moreover, Bhupen Deka, Mirza Lutfur Rahman and Troilakya Das were also present on the occasion.
